A bridge back to the origin

Sumak Terra was born out of a deep relationship with cacao. For years we knew it not only as food, but as the plant that many original cultures of the Americas considered sacred: a food that nourishes the body, opens the heart and accompanies inner connection.
That is where our name comes from. Sumak Kawsay is the Andean concept of life in fullness and in harmony with nature, and it is how we want every bar to be lived.
We do not make mass-market chocolate. We work with fine-flavour cacao from century-old trees in Manabí and Esmeraldas, grown in the chacra system by families who devote their lives to the land. We respect the cycles of the tree, so some bars only exist in certain seasons.
Behind every bar there is a territory, a culture and people who rise at dawn to care for the cacao. We want that to show in every bite.
We do not own this legacy. We are its custodians.
